The Bible is God’s infallible word miraculously given to us in order to direct our lives, and lead us into a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Bible equips us to serve God (2 Timothy 3:17; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12). It helps us know how to be saved from our sin and its ultimate consequence (2 Timothy 3:15). Meditating on God’s Word and obeying its teachings will bring success in life (Joshua 1:8; James 1:25). God’s Word helps us see sin in our lives and helps us get rid of it (Psalm 119:9, 11). It gives us guidance in life, making us wiser than our teachers (Psalm 32:8, 119:99; Proverbs 1:6). The Bible keeps us from wasting years of our lives on that which does not matter and will not last (Matthew 7:24-27).

A good summary of the Bible is difficult to achieve. The Bible is comprised of 2 testaments, 66 different books, 1189 chapters, 31173 verses, and 773692 words. The different books of the Bible cover different topics and were addressed to different audiences. The books of the Bible were written by approximately 40 different men over a period of approximately 1500 years. A summary of the entire Bible is, therefore, a major undertaking. At the same time, the Holy Spirit was the "inspiring" author of the Bible. God "breathed out" His Word and used the prophets and apostles to write His Word down (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21). Further, all those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ have the Holy Spirit indwelling them (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13). The Holy Spirit desires to help us to understand the Bible (1 Corinthians 2:10-16). The purpose of a Bible summary is to give a basic background of each book of the Bible. For each book of the Bible, the author, date of writing, our purpose of writing, key verses, and a brief summary will be given. I sincerely hope that our Bible summary section will help you to understand the Bible better and will encourage you to study the Bible in a more in-depth manner. Content provided by GotQuestions.org.
